7th-Mar-2011 01:48 am - Writer's Block: The nickname game
Which nicknames have you given to your friends, and why? Have they embraced them?

Mostly, the people I've given nick-names to have embraced them. Sean liked using "Angel" , and Beth likes "mei-mei", tho she has rejected "E Bizzle". Jack likes 'Jack' so much, he uses it as his name with everyone. I used to give everyone nicknames here on my journal, just to hide identities. But I've mostly stopped doing that.

26th-Feb-2011 09:53 pm - Writer's Block: Round and round
Is there any song you could listen to 20 times in a day without ever losing interest?

Right now, I think that song is "Falling" by Florence and the Machine or "Save Yourself, I'll Hold Them Back" from My Chemical Romance. However, if you asked me this same question in a week's time, I would have a completely different answer for you.
In just over twelve hours, I will be at Gallifrey One in LA, CA. I can only express my emotions about this through .gifs So here we go.

It's baby's first video!!

Disclaimer, Part One: I don't own Merlin. Katie McGrath and Anthony Stewart Head own themselves and their respective gorgousness. Taylor Swift owns the song.
Disclaimer, Part Two: Yes, it's a shipping vid. No, season three does not exist in my world. Don't like the ship, don't watch the vid.

This is my very first ever music video, and I am super proud of it. It's pretty self explanatory = Morgana is haunted by how her and Uther's relationship is falling apart. I hope you enjoy, feedback is loved!!
3rd-Feb-2011 08:51 pm - In Which There Is A Graph
Yes, yes, dearest friends, it's the moment you've all been waiting for! The unveiling of the results of

(Special thanks to Google for showing me how to do sparkle text. I know you're all impressed.)

So, we covered steps one through four in yesterday's post, found here for those of you new to our programme. Tonight, we conclude the experiment. So, without further ado: My findings:

5.) Analyze data:
The data I gathered was this: I did not have any nightmares that included the usual jolt-awake with fear that nightmares tend to end in. I did have a dream where I was in trapped in a library with a flying German Shepard, which, since I was attacked by such an animal when I was younger, (though it did not fly), might qualify. I wasn't afraid in the dream, and did not wake up from it.
I do not remember any other dreams I had.
6.) Interpret data and draw conclusions that serve as a starting point for new hypothesis: So, while I didn't have any nightmares, per se, I did have a very very strange dream, even by my standards. I mean, a flying German Shepard? Really, brain? So perhaps pickles do not cause BAD dreams as much as they do STRANGE dreams. I ran another Google search, and found that many people reported similar phenomenon.
7.) Publish Results: That's basically what I'm doing now.
8.) Retest (frequently done by other scientists): I will be re-testing tonight, tho my report won't be quite so grand. If anyone else wants to look into this and retest along with me, you are encouraged to do so!!

And so brings a close to this chapter of my weirdness. Though with Gally fast approaching, I'm sure another chapter will come to be written very very soon.
So, since I've spent the day alone, cleaning, and bored, one would think I would go to sleep when nighttime fell, if only to get to tomorrow faster. Not so. No, instead, I sit up watching crappy television and drafting experiments. Tonight's experiment:
Do Pickles Cause Nightmares?
I am prone to nightmares. I am also prone to eating pickles. What can I say, I'm a salt addict. So when my mind called up the vaguely remembered idea that pickles cause nightmares, I decided to put it to the test.
In memory of all my science teachers in elementary school, I will conduct this experiment via

So here it is:
1.) Define the Question:
The question is: do pickles cause nightmares, if you eat them before bed.
2.) Gather information and resources:
I asketh Lord Google about said question, and basically came back with "There's no conclusive scientific data ."
I chuckled to myself. "Until now, Google. Until now."
3.) Form hypothesis:
I don't think pickles cause nightmares, I really don't. I've eaten pickles my whole life, and I've had nightmares my whole life, and yet I can never remember linking the two in my mind. So my hypothesis is that there will be no nightmares.
4.) Perform experiment and collect data:
So, that's tonight. I ate two normal sized dill pickles, watched South Park/Cake Boss and played Farmerama. I wanted to be sure that there wasn't any nightmare-fuel that could mess with my sleeping, although some of the giant-eyed animals on Farmerama might slip into frightening territory. I'm not going to take any Hydroxyzine or anything, but am otherwise attending to my normal bedtime routine.

So tomorrow I'll have the results of this rigorous experiment for you, here on your Livejournal friend page.
Don't go away.

(Disclaimer: I am not drunk, and I am so sorry you guys are my friends.)
